Medicine Creek Days’s Ranch Rodeo Team Rules
Ground Rules
- No rough or undue roughness to livestock
- 4 team members
- Cannot be tied hard
- Legal Head Catches – slick horn, half head, full head
- No front legs allowed
- No loop limits
- 4 minute time limit in each event
- Ropes off saddle/horn when you dismount.
Trailer Loading/Doctoring
- 4 cowboys in pickup, 4 horses in trailer
- Time starts when pickup door opens
- Number will be called when first member is horseback
- Doctor one steer, load one steer
- Head and heal steer to doctor, 1 or 2 heels
- Put a chalk mark on steers forehead
- Load 4 horses in trailers and shut the gate
- Load 4 cowboys into pickup
- Time stop when all 4 doors are shut
Mugging/Penning
- Time starts judge drops the flag
- Team will pen one steer and mug one steer
- Rope steer and tie 3 legs (legal head catch, heeling optional)
- Pen other steer in the pen, no roping penning steer
- Time stops when gate is tied shut, all 4 cowboys in circle
- Mugged steers must be tied down when members enter circle
- All 4 members must be un-mounted in the circle
